Katie Holmes Back to Broadway!
Everyone has been wondering what Katie Holmes' first big acting role would be POST-DIVORCE, and it looks like she's sticking around in the Big Apple for a run on Broadway.
Katie will star in a play called "Dead Accounts," which is a 5-character comedy.
She will play Lorna, who's the sister to the protagonist.
Producers explain the play as, "... (tackling) the timely issues of corporate greed, small town values, and whether or not your family will always welcome you back."
This isn't Katie's first stab at theatrical acting—she made her broadway debut in 2008 in Arthur Miller's "All My Sons."
What's interesting here is that we might be seeing some of history repeating itself—shortly after divorcing from Tom Cruise, Nicole Kidman went on to make a musical movie, Moulin Rouge, which earned her critical acclaim.
Nicole also did the Broadway play The Blue Room, which to this day, she counts as a role that solidified her career.
So if history IS any indicator, Broadway seems like a great place to rebrand herself.
Do you guys think this is a smart move for Katie's career and would YOU be down to go check her out on stage in NYC?
