Jennifer Lopez Interview 2012 - Leaving American Idol!?
Jennifer Lopez has loved being on a judge for 2 years on American Idol, but it sounds like the 42 year old superstar is ready to move on.
Lopez appeared on The Today Show earlier and revealed that while she's loved every part of the experience, she misses doing entertainment-related work like movies and whatnot.
She said, "It's a tough decision either way, but I have to say, that there are so many other things that I do that I put on hold for (Idol) so at the end of the day, whichever way, it's a heartbreaking decision if I'm gonna have to go."
So I don't know about you guys, but to me, it sounds like she's already made up her mind to leave the show, right?
She responded by explaining how much she loves the team and the process of the show, but also said, "I am thinking that maybe it's time for me to go and do other things that I really love to do like films and right now I'm on tour."
TMZ is reporting that a decision will not be made until Jennifer finishes up the tour she's on with Enrique Iglesias right now—They're saying that she's waiting to see how "hot" she is when the tour winds down—if she's hot, she'll probably leave the show and take up other offers, but if not, Idol is a great gig to fall back on.
This isn't the first time JLO has made Idol producers and fans sweat—she held out until the very last minute last year to sign on the dotted line, once they agreed to pay her $20 million for one season of work.
So, in the sad case that JLO does decide to leave Idol, who would you guys want to see fill her shoes?
There's been rumors of Adam Lambert, Mariah Carey, and Fergie all in the running, but it's all up to you!
