J. Rome Wins Duets Season 1!
Season 1 of ABC's DUETS singing show crowns their very first winner! Welcome back to ClevverMusic. In the Season 1 finale of Duets we saw three males in the final 3 spots, but all on female teams: Team Jennifer Nettles and Team Kelly Clarkson. It was Team Jennifer Nettles that took the win with standout amateur J. Rome, winning a Hollywood Records recording contract! Her other amateur John Glosson took second place, and Jason Ferol on Team Kelly took third.
The win comes as no surprise to us as J. Rome was a standout the entire season. Jennifer Nettles is also to thank for the win, as a coach she really stepped up to the plate and showed her vibrant personality and passion the entire season.
On the finale show we saw the two highest ranking females grace the stage once again. Bridget Carrington sang an incredible duet with John Legend, "Shelter Way" by the Rolling Stones. Olivia Chisholm on Team Robin Thicke also performed on the finale.
The top three contestants in the running gave us a final performance on the show- John Glosson and Jennifer Nettles sang a 'Wicked' Broadway number "For Good", while Kelly Clarkson and finalist Jason Ferol sang Elvis tune "Heartbreak Hotel". Finally, J. Rome and Jennifer Nettles sang DeBarge's "Rhythm Of The Night".
After J. Rome was announced winner, he sang us out with Steve Wonder's "Signed, Sealed, Delivered"! We think the right person was crowned as J. Rome has an enormous amount of talent, but what do you think? Tell us if the right person won?
