Emma Watson donned a purple halter dress for the MTV Movie Awards on June 3, which happens to be day 2 of the Diamond Jubilee for Queen Elizabeth II back in her native England. So was this royal color chosen by the Harry Potter actress meant as a nod to what is happening on the other side of the pond?
Probably not.
Still, the thespian who has grown out her very short hair a bit since last year looked quite regal and yet still young and hip at the same time while wearing a short dress from the BROOD fall 2012 collection to the annual shindig.
Her dress, which addressed a tie dye theme, was definitely on point for Emma Watson who is up for all kinds of awards this evening. She was nominated for best cast, best female performance, and best kiss for her part as Hermione Granger in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2.
She is also on hand in Los Angeles at the MTV movie awards to present a short video clip of her new movie called The Perks of Being a Wallflower.
And so, while this actress is anything but a wallflower in real life, Emma Watson certainly could have been called the belle of the ball as she showed up in purple fashion on the red carpet of the annual MTV Movie Awards, this year hosted by fellow Brit Russell Brand.
